Safety & Trust
Trust should be visible, not assumed.
DaConekt is being built to help customers understand who they are hiring and what checks a provider has actually completed. We match verification to the service, not to a one-size-fits-all promise. We’re launching in Ottawa, Ontario first.
Verification badges
What you may see on a profile
These are the checks DaConekt can display once completed. Requirements vary by service, and no single provider needs every badge.
Identity Verified
The provider's identity has been checked against government-issued ID.
Business Verified
Business registration details have been reviewed and matched to the provider.
Insurance Verified
Proof of current liability insurance has been supplied and reviewed.
Licensed Trade / Credentials Verified
A valid trade licence or certification has been provided for regulated work.
Background Checked
A criminal record check has been completed through a third-party screener.
Vulnerable Sector Checked
A vulnerable sector check has been completed, where relevant to the type of service.
Reviews / Completed-job history
Customer feedback and completed-job history only from work done through DaConekt once that feature launches.
Verification is a signal, not a guarantee
Verification reduces uncertainty; it does not eliminate risk. Customers should still use good judgment when hiring any service provider, and providers remain responsible for their own work, conduct, insurance and compliance.
Right checks for the right service
Matched to the work
Higher-sensitivity work calls for stronger verification. The exact mix depends on the category, not a blanket standard.
Regulated trades
Plumbing, electrical and other regulated work will only be offered by providers with the appropriate licence or credentials where legally required in Ontario.
Family & Senior Assistance
Non-medical support only — companionship, errands, technology help and light household tasks. Enhanced screening such as background or vulnerable-sector checks may apply.
Personal, events, pets & auto
Identity, business registration, insurance and relevant qualifications will be checked as appropriate to the service — a mobile detailer, pet sitter and decorator carry different risks.
Technology, learning & business
Identity, relevant credentials and customer feedback will help buyers evaluate tutors, IT helpers and small-business support providers.
Safer marketplace behaviour
Built for clarity from the start
A few simple practices that will matter more once messaging, booking and payments are live on DaConekt.
Keep it on DaConekt
When messaging launches, keeping conversations and job details on the platform creates a clear record and makes support easier.
Book and pay through DaConekt
Marketplace payments will create a transaction record and simplify disputes or support requests. Off-platform payments may fall outside that record.
Review before you choose
Read the provider profile, service scope, badges and quote carefully. Badges show completed checks; they do not guarantee outcomes.
Responsibilities
What customers and providers agree to

Report a concern
Confidence starts with clarity.
As the marketplace launches, DaConekt will provide a way to report misleading profiles, unsafe behaviour or disputes. We will review reports and take action where warranted, including removing providers when appropriate.
